If You're Happy and You Know It...

You are about to witness history...ok...that might be overstating it a little bit but welcome to the very FIRST edition of the Happy Hour Blog!

I know you’re probably thinking to yourself right now, “great, another company has started a blog to try and sell me something I don’t really need/want.” Well, kind of, but here’s the thing: like everything else we do here at Happy Hour we want to be different. The plan isn’t to use this space for “the deal of the week” or pointless lists such as “13 beers that taste good with broccoli” or clickbait headlines like “what is this vodka made of? The answer will surprise you!”

There’s enough of that useless filler on the internet already.

What we plan to do here is inform and (hopefully) entertain you in a way that our other liquor stores can’t. You can already learn so much about our products and our people through our Facebook and Instagram accounts but there’s still nothing better (in my opinion) than the written word when it comes to storytelling. That’s where this space comes in.

Once we’re done with this boring (but kind of mandatory introductory piece) the plan is to fill this blog on a regular basis with fun and informative stories about booze, the people who make it, the people who sell it and maybe even the people who buy it. The possibilities are endless.

For example, this Friday we are excited to welcome the owner of Alberta’s Bench Creek Brewing Andrew Kulynych to the store, who just so happens to be a former resident of Pilot Butte (we’ll forgive him for leaving since he makes amazing beer). After his visit, be sure to check back here to learn more about Andrew’s story, his love of beer and his business.

Andrew’s story is only the beginning as we have lots of great ideas planned, so be sure to check in regularly.

If you have a great story to tell, know someone who does, or if there’s something you want to learn about, feel free to send us a message on our Facebook page or click contact us at the top of the website.

You can also follow me directly on Twitter if you’d like at @JGasson_21 (if you don’t mind plenty of sports talk with mindless chatter sprinkled in.)

As always, you can like our Facebook page and follow us on Instagram for more.

Until next time, see you at the store.
