The creepiest, crawliest and spookiest day of the year is upon us.

Halloween is one day many look forward to on the calendar every year, including all of us at Happy Hour!

Once again this year, we’ll be celebrating Halloween in store. This Friday between 4-7pm we’ll have some Halloween themed games and drink samples. Oh, and the staff will be dressed up too! It will be a spooktacular celebration that you won’t want to miss.

As much fun as we’re going to have in-store on Friday, we know that your Halloween celebrations will continue on that night, over the weekend, and perhaps on Halloween itself.

With that in mind, we’re here to help with a Halloween themed punch, cocktail and shooter.

Witch’s Brew

(full recipe found here)

What you’ll need:

  • 1 package of lime gelatin

  • 2 cups of boiling water

  • 3 cups of chilled pineapple juice

  • 2 litres of lemon-lime pop or ginger ale

  • 2 cups of vodka

  • 1 large plastic cauldron

  • 1 punch bowl

  • 1 block of dry ice

How to make it:

Pour the gelatin mix into the bowl and slowly stir in the boiling water until the gelatin is gone. Add pineapple juice.

Once the mixture is room temperature, add dry ice to the cauldron. Fill it with enough water to cover the ice to create a steam effect.

Carefully put punch bowl in cauldron, pour drink mixture into the bowl and slowly add chilled vodka and pop.

Good and Evil

(full recipe found here)

What you’ll need:

  • 1 oz vodka

  • 1 oz green sour puss

  • 1 oz melon liquor

  • 1 oz triple sec

  • ice

  • pineapple juice

  • lemon lime pop

  • lemon for garnish

  • How to make it:

Mix vodka, Sour Puss, melon liquor and triple sec in a shaker filled with ice. Pour into a cocktail glass, top with juice and pop and garnish with a lemon.

Glowing Jell-O Shots

(full recipe found here)

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cups tonic water (this will make it glow)

  • 2 packages of Jell-O (you can use two different flavours if you want)

  • 1 cup of water

  • 1 cup of vodka

How to make it:

Bring one cup of tonic water to a boil, add Jell-o mix and whisk until the mix has disappeared. Add half a cup of water and vodka then stir.

Fill shot glasses about 2/3 with the mixture. Chill for around half an hour.

Repeat the first steps again with second package of Jell-o and finish filling the shot glasses.

Have a fun and safe Halloween everyone!
